“Your Best Weight is the weight you achieve while living the healthiest lifestyle you can truly enjoy”
In other words, we get rid of the terms ‘ideal weight’ and ‘goal weight’ in favour of working towards finding a sustainable lifestyle that helps you live your best life.

The My Best Weight program is a physician-supervised medical program focused on providing individualized, evidence-based, non-judgmental care.
We recognize obesity for what it is: a brain-based, complex, progressive chronic disease and believe that people living with obesity deserve proper, evidence-based and compassionate treatment for their disease.
Losing weight and keeping it off is not as simple as 'eat less and move more'.
Weight is affected by a number of factors such as:
We will teach you about the latest science, the real causes of weight gain and obesity and why it can be so challenging to manage this disease.
Given that obesity is a chronic disease, we also discuss the options of using weight management medications and bariatric surgery. These treatment choices are YOURS - we work in a partnership with you to provide information to help you make treatment decisions.
We know that most people have tried various diet or weight-loss programs, often losing and then regaining weight over time. These changes rely on ‘willpower’ - which, just like a muscle gets tired over time making these changes very difficult to maintain.
This program focuses on ‘skillpower’. Changing thoughts, using tools and applying information to achieve behaviours that are in line with your values.
Your nurse or dietitian will explore what mindsets (self-defeating thoughts) and habits (snacking in the evening) that may be affecting your behaviours. Together, we will develop new strategies to support you along your journey.
We will explore how to create nutritious meals and snacks, reviewing topics such as portion sizes, mindful eating patterns and balancing meals. Please note we do not provide meal plans.
We know that each person’s journey will be unique and we are here to support you in your health journey with a non-judgmental, open-minded approach.
THERE IS NO GOAL WEIGHT
This is a common question that is difficult to answer; each person’s weight journey will be different as obesity is a very complex, chronic disease. The amount of weight loss is not our primary focus. Rather, our focus is on helping you adjust your mindset and behaviours to reach your long term goals and values.
Successes aren’t always measured on the scale.
That being said, we will provide you with realistic options, based on sound evidence and clinical expertise, that may help you lose 5 – 10% of your starting weight. Studies show that a weight loss of 5% can significantly improve your health.
Our clients are adults (18+) living with:
